With Water

With water we live; without it, we die.
The devastation of floods, the anxiety of drought;
with water we live, there is no doubt.
Power to the people from the Scots hydro scheme.
Peace and tranquillity by a small mountain stream.
Soaking wet we work and play in the rain. Never sparing a thought for the drains under strain.
A body of water like a lake or a dam,
a drop in the hand, a glass, that wee dram,
vast ocean waves that crash on the shore; with water we live, it is at our core.
On water we sail as the journey begins.
Water is the giver of so many things.
Over water we gaze to the far distant isle.
Via the canal we travel mile after mile.
Sea defences so sturdy and strong.
The groynes at Spurn Point, now almost gone.
With water we wash, we bathe, bath and shower,
With water we stand in awe of its power.
With Water
