Attention parents: PTO Volunteers are needed!

We are in desperate need of volunteers! The two most profitable PTO fundraisers—Art Gala and Book Sale—are at risk of cancellation in 2022-2023 due to a lack of volunteer support. Without these fundraisers, the PTO will not be able to fund the many projects for our teachers and students, including after prom. Contact Kristen at Kristenyounguhspto@gmail.com to volunteer today!

wanted: Art Gala Volunteers

We need 1 or 2 chairpersons for the 2022 UHS Art Gala. This important, 46-year-old community event is the second largest fundraiser for UHS PTO. Please consider helping out next fall with a great group of subcommittee chairs already in place. No art experience is necessary! The Art Gala showcases local professional artists as well as our exceptional UHS student artists and will be held November 11-12, 2022. Most committee positions are filled, but some are still open, including:

  • Co-Chair (2 positions): If you like to organize events with an awesome committee already in place, this position is for you!
  • Social Media (1 position): Promotion of the Art Gala and our sponsors on Instagram and Facebook are key responsibilities of this position.
  • Publicity (2 positions, 1 position filled): This position entails working with our current publicity chair to promoting the art gala to the community in local publications, calendars, and within our UCFSD district.
  • Silent Auction (2 positions, 1 position filled): Please consider helping out our current silent auction chair with running this portion of the Art Gala.

WANTED: Used book sale volunteers

The UHS Used Book Sale makes a return in 2023! We still need 1 or 2 chairpersons. The Used Book Sale is the biggest PTO fundraiser, please help! No book sale experience is necessary! Contact Angel Brown @ crbakb5@gmail.com or Kristin Young @ kristinyounguhspto@gmail.com. Most committee positions are filled, but some are still open, including:

  • Co-Chair (2 positions): If you like to organize events with awesome support already in place, this position is for you! This position must be filled in order to run the Used Book Sale for 2023.
  • Volunteer Coordinator (1 position): Coordinate student and adult volunteers before and during the sale.
  • Book Coordinator (2 positions): This position entails working with incoming book sorting and organizing book categories.
  • Area Coordinator (multiple positions): This is a position needed for the areas of Children's books (2 needed), collector books (2 needed), and general reading (2 needed).
