Block 216 will stand out as Downtown Portland’s latest addition to the skyline as a 35-story brilliant tower. The building occupies a full city block proximate to the MAX line and Portland Streetcar along the Park Block corridor. It is a concrete structure with an exterior adorned with facetted, precast shapes on the lower floors to compliment the surrounding buildings and a multiplanar glass façade rising 460 feet above street level. The building will provide 138 luxury condominiums on the upper 15 floors, including penthouse suites on the top two floors, and 251 Ritz Carlton 5 star hotel rooms on floors 8 through 18. Floors 19 and 20 house the Ritz restaurant and bar and a spa experience with a wading pool. The grand ballroom and meeting spaces are on the second floor. There are retail and food spaces on a newly developed plaza along Portland’s future Green Loop. Class A commercial office space is available on floors 4 through 7. The project will be erected by a single tower crane that will rise 547 feet above street level to the top of the flashing beacon. It will be served by up to 8 construction elevators both inside and outside the building.
