1 John 2:6 - Whoever claims to live in him must walk 🚶🏻‍♂️as Jesus did.
To walk like Jesus, you need to know what he is like.
DAY 2 - Find Friends Like Jesus
Luke 6:12-16
One day soon afterward Jesus went up on a mountain to pray, and he prayed to God all night. At daybreak he called together all of his disciples and chose twelve of them to be apostles. Here are their names: Simon (whom he named Peter), Andrew (Peter’s brother), James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James (son of Alphaeus), Simon (who was called the zealot), Judas (son of James), Judas Iscariot (who later betrayed him).
Question: How did Jesus know who to choose as his friends (disciples)? Look back at the passage above.
Question: How do you choose your friends?
Do you choose your friends based on your same style, look, humor, classes or hobbies, or just simple convenience? There are natural things that bring friends together. But how often do you assume that you should be friends with someone?
- Have you ever asked your Father God about who you should hang out with?
- Have you asked Him about how much time you should spend with that person?
Or do you just go for the “likes”?
Apply
God wants you to have good friendships. He knows who is best for you. Take some time to ask Him about your current friendships.
- Does He want you hanging out with your current friends?
- Are there any new friends that He wants you to pursue?
Listen to Him and do what He says!
