We decided to take a short weekend trip to Mahoney State Park.
It's located in Ashland, Nebraska, about 30 minutes outside of Omaha.
This view from the observation tower overlooks the Platte River. A river that just a few miles down the way feeds into the Missouri River.
The boys had loved playing in the indoor playground.
They have an amazing indoor facility with a huge climbing structure for kids.
We stayed at the Peter Kiewit Lodge.
A perfect place for a weekend getaway.
