Hi, my name is Pippi de Koning, I am a graphic design student based in the Netherlands. I am 19 years old and in the third and final year of my studies

skills
software
knowing how the software works is critical for delivering the best products to my customers. by mastering the software I'm able to use the software in a professional way. I have been working with Adobe for the past three years. I mainly use Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
research
research is an important part of graphic design: you've to know who the client is, research their market share and target audience to create a product that's a 100% perfect fit. I've perfected my research strategy so that Im can get an idea of the market the client is in quite quick. Personally, I like researching because it allows me to really get into the world of the product or service I'm trying to develop something amazing for.
illustrating
illustrating is also a skill I have, I illustrate on paper and digitally. I use Pro Create on an iPad and Illustrator on a computer. During the 2020-2022 pandemic I had a lot of free time and decided to start my own small business, Puur Pippi, making and selling postcards. I sold sets of 5 and drew beautiful flowers and abstract graphic designs. Using alcohol markers and fine liners, I spent all day drawing the cards and assembling the drawing on another sheet of paper so the quality was good and it looked like a postcard with address lines and such. I love designing on the computer, but creating something beautiful with my hands is something I always enjoy doing.

future
My goal is to eventually be able to work from anywhere in the world. I would take my laptop and travel to wherever I want and work from there. Before that is possible, I need to gain experience. I would love to work for a big agency for a while to really get the feel of designing for big brands and clients, but I would also would love to work for a smaller bureau I want both experiences so I can learn how those worlds work and decide what I like best.
After my education, I will take a year off to travel and learn a language. After that I will do another education, probably in marketing or design, but I still have to find out what suits me and my ambitions best.

matrix cardgame quartet
during my education, we designed a card game as a class, the theme was a movie trilogy. everyone in my class chose a trilogy and designed 3 cards about one of the movie parts and one card covering the whole series. it was a really cool concept because you got a game about movies, but each set had its own design style. the matrix is my favorite movie. i started on paper and finalised it in adobe illustrator.

my school held a competition to design the alpdhuzes magazine, during the event, my school would make a magazine onsite about each tour day and published it each evening. this was my contribution i used adobe indesign for the layout and photoshop for the background picture

i created the poster series for a game design exhibition in indesign, creating an pattern for the museum, they can use for any exhibition, was part of the assignment. the logo in the lower right corner i also designed. the posters i made in indesign and the logo is made in illustrator

i designed these tickets as part of a series of products for the design museum Rotterdam. i created the colours, logo, graphics and layout. i chose bright colours in combination with fun spacing and let the shaped overlap. i created depth on a flat piece of paper in a unique bold way that fits with the theme design. i used adobe illustrator

during an assigment from poing Rotterdam that i and another student were working on, we were given an "urgent assignment" where we had a few hours to design a sandwich board for advertising. we were pressed for time. it was an educational assignment because it reflected the real world. i used illustrater to make the design and photoshop to do the mockup
start your own brand
for my final exam, i "founded" a clothing brand. my brand is all about simplicity and graphic design. i love a good black shirt with graphic design, and who knows better what i want to wear than myself. i made something i really love. my brand has a splash of sk8style in to it. i designed a poster, instagram presence, special packaging, a pare of shorts, a t-shirt, and did the decor for the booth. i used a lot of different software and hardware douring the process. I used illustrator for the poster, the packaging, the t-shirt design, the decorations, and the instagram presence. for the instagram mockup, i used photoshop. the poster was printed at school, i was involved in the printing process. and i printed the graphics on the shirt and shorts myself and adhierd on to the shirt myself
