Greek Words in the Book
The main sentence you see is 'O Zeu kai alloi theoi!', which Grover exclaims while Percy is at Montauk with his mum. It translates to 'Zeus and Other Gods!', which he says because the weather is going crazy. Also at that time, Percy discovers Grover is a satyr.
Interview with Grover
P1: Hi, Grover!
Grover: Hey!
P1: So we have heard you are the protecter of Percy Jackson, is that correct?
Grover: Yes, I am. In fact, I recently went on a quest with him!
P1: We've heard about that too, and we have some questions to ask you.
P1: How do you think Percy is as a friend, and demigod?
Grover: I think he's really, really kind and genuine. He gives me metal tin cans frequently too! However, sometimes he can be a bit crabby and mean, and that's mainly because of his ADHD.
P1: That's interesting! Also, what had you encountered in your quest, and what was it about?
Grover: Basically, we went on a quest to fetch Zeus' lightning bolt. We faced many problems, and even got tied to waterbeds once!
The monsters we saw, are very out of the blue. Any normal human would be absolutely horrified by the things we can do, and the things monsters can do!
But most of all, it really gave Percy a chance to prove himself, and he did just that. Chiron was extremely supportive of him, and pushed Percy even when he didn't know the gods existed in real life!
P1: Thank you for your time.
Annabeth's Diary Entry
My disgusting, horrible, mean mother
Dear Diary,
I can't believe she's doing this to me. Why do gods just create a child with a mortal, dump the mortal and the child, and repeat that process? It makes me SO MAD to know she's so unthoughtful and to think that I'M her child is just petty.
Why have a child if you won't ever see them in your life? She's so selfish! I wish I could just be normal, live a normal life and never have to know that my mum would never make the time to see me. I hate her so much.

Changes I'd like to be made at Camp Half-Blood
Hello Sir,
I'm really enjoying the company of others at Camp Half-Blood, however there are some things that aren't up to scratch that would really improve this camp.
First, I think more watch needs to be put on the Naiads. They keep flirting with everyone that walks past- it's disturbing. Imagine peacefully reading a book about archery, then suddenly you hear giggles and gossip. It would be extremely uncomfortable, right?
Second, please improve the quality of the bathrooms. I know Percy can forcefully splash water onto my face, but Clarissa is quite creepy there; she's one of the easiest enraged people ever! I think the toilets should be more 'state-of-the-art', you know.
I hope you take my thoughts into consideration, as I think this could be the greatest camp ever.
Yours Sincerely,
Casey
What if Percy Jackson was a female?
Characteristics
Percy would be much, much more girly, especially being the 'daughter' of Posiedon. He would be more careful, most specifically in the underworld, but I think he'd be more comfortable underwater.
Fighting
I think Percy wouldn't have been offered that quest, as the things 'she'd' come across. Facing Ares as a guy alone would be scary, and not being sexist, it would probably be more scary for a girl. He would be more agile, and quick on his feet, and maybe Grover wouldn't have been his caregiver.
Overall
Overall, I think that if Percy was a female, he'd be less strong, and more agile and resilient. Since Percy as a guy has ADHD and gets angry, Percy as a female having ADHD might possibly procrastinate more. I think Percy would take a different quest, but no matter what, he'd still be a very brave demigod.
Why does Mr Brunner expect greatly from Percy?
What you learn from me... Is vitally important.
Mr Brunner says that because Percy had, all along, been a Demi-God. The studies (being Greek Gods) would apply greatly to Percy's future as a half-blood, defeating many monsters. However, at the time, Percy didn't know that and got extremely frustrated.
I think Mr Brunner as a teacher is very fun, and the perfect kind of teacher. He pushes you to do well, as well as having the right amount of fun mixed in, which is hard to do.
I don't really know if I've had a teacher that pushed me to my limits to do well, but they've all encouraged me, and I feel I have done well at school.
Pros and Cons of Immortality
Pros
- You wouldn't have to deal with the fear of death (of old age)
- You don't have to worry about getting old and weak
- You potentially could get really good at something, seeing as you have the time to experience it.
- You could get to know many, many people
Cons
- You watch everyone you love die around you
- You'd be seen as a freak of nature.
- People might want to do experiments on you
- You could go crazy from living too long
Overall
Overall, I think that I would not like to live forever, as the cons outweigh the pros by so much.
