Loyola Cheerleading By: Brittany Dattilo

About Loyola Cheer

The Loyola Cheerleading program supports Greyhounds athletics at the University. They can be found on the sidelines of Loyola men's and women's home basketball games.

The cheerleading team performs in front of thousands of fans each year and is provided with the amazing opportunity to be front row for our athletic events.

The cheer season runs from early September until the middle of March. Practices are held in Reitz Arena.

Performances

Every semester, the cheer team learns three timeout and three halftime routines. These routines are performed at all home games.

Lots of hard work, dedication, and practice goes into learning these cheerleading routines.

The featured video shows a timeout routine from the 2017-2018 season. This was performed at a mens basketball home game.

Schedule

Being a part of the Loyola Cheerleading team is a major time commitment. There are about three practices a week, for three hours a day.

In addition to practice, the team is expected to be present at all home mens and women's basketball games. There are about 3 a week from November to February.

There are many different team bonding events that take place throughout the cheer season.
