We started reading a new text, ‘The Lorax’ by Theodore Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss).
The children enjoyed reading the story opening. They found lots of nonsense words and examples of alliteration. Stephen made up his own nonsense words.
In the story opening the boy has to pay the ‘Once-ler’ to find out what happened to the Lorax. We had a great discussion about whether the boy should pay the ‘Once-ler ’. Jenilson thought he would not pay because he would not trust him. Mia would not pay because she thought he was a thief. Charlie would not pay because he thought the ‘Once-ler’ was greedy. Most of the children agreed they would pay to find out what happened to the Lorax.
Miruna and Azhe are working hard together every day to improve their English speaking and writing skills.
