Content Info For The Week

Math (Swindell, Beasley, and Meeks):

Students will review solving equations and graphing in a coordniate system in preparation for working with functions.Students that met or exceeded their goal for Winter MAP will participate in a celebration on Friday.

Algebra I (Meeks):

Monday - We will review for our unit assessment. Tuesday - Unit assessment. Wednesday - we will review solving system of equations and graphing linear functions. Thursday - we will begin graphing linear inequalities. Friday - we will wrap up solving linear inequalities.

ELA (Styron and Bright):

This week scholars will analyze what is clearly stated in the text and infer what is not clearly stated, and analyze how a particular scene reveals the setting in a novel excerpt.

ELA (Lee):

This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will focus on reviewing skills that we practiced prior to Winter Break. We will continue working on active/passive voice, verb moods, and types of irony. Students will also begin preparing to read our next in-class novel Hidden Figures.

9th Grade Lit (Lee):

This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will review some of the key thematic elements from To Kill A Mockingbird that we discussed prior to Winter Break. We will continue our analysis of key characters and plot points in Part 1 and the first chapters of Part 2.

Science (Carver and Lewis):

Students will review over previous content learned before break. Students will review with a practice on net force and unbalance/balanced forces.

Social Studies (MacArthur and Lewis):

This week, students will begin working on unit 5 covering westward expansion. Students will learn about the 5 state capitals of Georgia, the land lottery system, the creation of rail roads and the cotton gin, and the Trail of Tears.
