Christian persecution

They were thought to be involved in rituals such as Thyestean feast and Oedipian sex. The Romans persecuted Christians for many other reasons including: they were believed perhaps scapegoats, and cannibals.
The Romans may have thought correctly about the Christians. Throughout this unit you will read many articles providing you will a different point of view each time.
"In the space of a few hundred years, a small, often brutally persecuted cult rose to become the dominant religion of the West. How did it happen?"
For those in this class I should tell you to look beyond the surfaced ask the question why. Why did the Romans believe the way they did? Why was the blame sent to the Christians. Why take such drastic measures? Why?
