How Can I Pray for Camp This Year?
To be honest, NOTHING that we do counts as much as praying for the camp. No amount of games, small groups, worship, or ANY of it will have the kind of impact that prayer can! The WORD also has the ability to change our hearts, so, as an extension of your quiet time leading up to camp would you consider praying for SKyview in the following areas?
Pray for a safe and healthy summer.
Camp is a very safe place, and has been for the last 12 years and we never take this for granted! We are constantly checking in to make sure that we are providing the safest environment possible, but we would love your prayers for this summer to be a healthy one.
-Pray for safety for our activities and our programs,
-Health for campers and staff, and for the nurse who does so much to keep our campers happy and healthy.
Pray for our Staff and Volunteers
Most of our volunteers work jobs, have families, and have even taken time OFF work or used vacation time to join us. We KNOW what a blessing that is…
-Pray for us to settle into camp well, for our endurance and energy during the week, and that we ALL would grow closer to Jesus while we’re at SKyview and even afterwards.
-Pray that God would give us the words and the smiles to meet each camper where they are and to make them feel loved.
-Pray for our Skyview Staff: for the kitchen and maintenance and house keeping crew who work so hard to make camp a special place.
- Please also pray against the spiritual attacks that come against our leadership every year at Skyview. Physical, emotional, and spiritual protection.
Pray for the Campers (Your kids and ours)
Coming to camp is a BIG deal, we know that a lot of good happens during this week of camp and it is a blessing to be a part of what God wants to do during this time, for ALL of us!
-Pray that any pre-camp nerves will wash away, and that each student would just be excited for the weeks to come.
-Pray that each student will meet incredible friends, be supported and loved well by their counselors, grow in their faith and to clearly hear the Gospel!
-Pray for a Spirit of Unity and Peace to surround their hearts. We have an enemy who wants to steal, kill, and destroy. That includes relationships with one another as well.
Pray for Pastor Mark and Kristin
It is a tremendous privilege to take care of these students during the summer, and we don’t take it lightly! As you can imagine, serving well over 100 students and about 25 staff and leaders can easily become overwhelming. Even though Kristin is a volunteer, during these events she becomes another staff member.
-Pray for wisdom for our Directors as they make each decision during the summer and for the Skyview Guest Services director (Josh Witry), as they take care of each aspect of camp.
- Please also pray against the spiritual attacks that come against our leadership every year at Skyview. Physical, emotional, and spiritual protection.
Pray that the glory will be to God. We are a Christ-centered camp, and our number one goal is to glorify God in everything we do. Pray that our summer will be pleasing to Him most of all, and that He would use everything that happens in these gates for His good and His glory. If that happens, our summer will be a success!
