Tokyo Night 2015 The beauty of Tokyo city when night fall
I have been to Tokyo many times. Until recently, I started to make an effort to capture the beauty of the city. I browsed through other photographer's photos and blogs, trying to identify the locations, method of reaching there (by train or walk), time of operation of some spots, whether tripod is allow, the admission fee and where is the best POV etc. Well preparation is vital especially you don't have the luxury of free time.
There are many beautiful places to photograph in Tokyo city. However, sunrise shooting is challenging without own transport and need to rely on public transport which only started operation when sun has raised. Therefore, I focus on capturing sunset and night scene.
Stunning and amazing Tokyo night scene
Shooting location: (1) World Trade Center Building at Hamamatsu-cho observation deck (2) Metropolitan Government Office Building North and South observation deck (3) Shinjuku office building (4) Shibuya crossing street (5) Odeiba Park (6) Shibaurafuto park (7) Tokyo Tower (8) Rainbow bridge
Beautiful view from Tokyo World Trade Center Building 40th story floor observation deck

Metropolitan Government Office Building view

The Metropolitan Government Office Building's 45th floor observation decks admission is free. There are North and South towers. South tower's observation deck close at 1700hrs whereas North tower operate till 2230hrs. Both tower has magnificent hi-rise view of Tokyo city at different angle. For sunset view, south tower is a better option where sun is setting at the far horizon within the view.
Metropolitan Government Office building's observation deck provides 360 degree view of Tokyo city.
The sunset view from South Tower is stunning.....
Go on weekday, most of the office building's lights will light-up at dusk and its amazing.....
The ground level of Metropolitan Government office has interesting POV, another hot spot for photographers.

The night view of offices building around Shinjuku area is awesome. In autumn time, sunset around 4:30pm, by 5pm, offices light started to turn on.

Tokyo Tower - yet another Eiffel Tower from the east
Tokyo Tower need no further introduction. A landmark in Tokyo city and most visited spot for tourists and photographers. Tokyo Tower stands beautifully when shoot from a distant.

Tokyo city, when the contemporary and traditional blended cohesively...
In Tokyo city, you can easily find traditional architecture and modem construction building than blended peacefully....
Shibuya - one of the busiest train station, shopping district and fashion centers of Japan, especially for the young people. A popular place for photographers as well.
Shibuya is also a major night-life area. Beside the faithful dog "Hachiko" , Shibuya crossing street is another hot spot and for once, you will stop-by and watch the crowds ( I mean a lot of people) criss-crossing the streets.....its an amazing scene. Indeed a challenge for photographers to shoot at this location where there are lot of "human migration" happening at a regular interval....
I saw some beautiful photos of rainbow bridge taken by some photographers. So I decided, to venture into this location. Browsed through google map and studied the shooting spot. Fortunately enough, I was accompanied by my Japanese buddy for the shooting at Harumifuto Park and Odaiba Park area where I can viewed Rainbow bridge from various prospective. It was a sunny evening, the blue hour and hue were stunning and the sunset was amazing.

Tokyo night scene is amazing and beautiful. The architecture and structure of the buildings, bridges, towers are fascinating. A sleepless city that embrace both the contemporary and traditional.
I am sure there are lot of beautiful spots still uncovered. Hope to come back with another prospective of Tokyo and Japan beautiful scene next time. Special thanks to my Japanese buddy for bringing me around those beautiful places.
Hope you enjoy....
