Term 2B Week 5

In Maths this week our work was all about position and direction. We were learning about half and quarter turns and were learning to use and understand the terms ‘left’ and ‘right’ when describing the positions of objects.

The children have really been showing how much they are enjoying reading books from our class library. I have been so impressed to hear children reading some of the stories independently.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the Islamic Workshop and were really engaged in the session where they learned about The Five Pillars of Islam.

Katie from Cornerstone came back to visit us to continue our ‘Kindfulness’ work. This week we made a happiness spinner. We drew four things on the spinner that made us happy so if we are ever feeling cross or grumpy we could find our spinner and use it to help us feel better.

On Friday we had some great fun celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We made red, white and blue biscuits and enjoyed some cucumber sandwiches. I am sure you will agree that the children looked fabulous!

Happy half term holidays!
