Human Rights Day 2022 Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All

The 10th of December is observed as Human Rights Day. This year’s theme is Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All #StandUp4HumanRights.

Human Rights Day is the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948, which is the document proclaiming the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

The 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights will be celebrated on 10 December 2023. Ahead of this milestone and starting on this year's Human Rights Day 2022, OHCHR (The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights) will launch a year-long campaign to showcase the UDHR by focusing on its legacy, relevance and activism.

UNCDF is increasingly recognized for its capabilities and approaches to strengthen public and private financing systems and mechanisms, de-risk the local investment space, and attract additional finance to drive economic development in the Least Developed Countries (LDCs).

UNCDF uses a combination of capital and development triggers applied across five priority areas to support countries to achieve three strategic game-changers: Climate Energy and Biodiversity Finance, Women’s Economic Empowerment, Local Transformative Finance, Inclusive Digital Economies, Sustainable Food Systems Finance, leaving no one behind regardless of age, race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, birth or status.
