Important Health Reminder - It is important for us to maintain the health in our building. We want to have healthy students and staff while preventing illness from spreading. This is not just regarding Covid, but all illnesses. Please help us by not sending your child to school if they are not feeling well.

The District policy is that students with any symptoms of illness should stay home. If a student has one symptom, they can return to school when that has been resolved. If they have a fever, they must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of medication before returning. If they vomited, they can return when it has been 24 hours since their last episode of vomiting. Students who have a new cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell, OR who have more than one symptom have three options:

  1. Stay home from school for five days and return on the sixth day as long as their symptoms are improved and they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without medication.
  2. Obtain a negative Covid test. Home tests are not permitted. PCR or rapid tests from a pharmacy, urgent care, doctor's office etc. are accepted.
  3. Provide a doctor's note with an alternate diagnosis that explains their symptoms. If a child is sick and awaiting test results, that student and all unvaccinated siblings must stay home until the results are known.

We appreciate your help keeping our Schroeder community healthy!

5th Grade End of the Year Celebration - We are currently creating our plan for our end of the year 5th grade celebration day. We are working to create a fun day for our 5th grade students! We are finalizing some of the details, but for now, parents can save the date! We are looking to have parents join us on Monday, June 13 from 9:30-10:30am. Parents would also be invited to attend Field Day that afternoon at approximately 2:00-3:45pm if interested. More information will be shared soon!

Students in Miss Myers, Miss Pertler and Miss Selden's (Mrs. Chojnacki) class had an exciting science week! The first graders were intrigued as they observed the habits of fiddler crabs and documented their findings.

5th grade scientists in Mrs. Polena's class created closed ecosystems in the last science unit of the year. Students are examining these closed ecosystems and learning how organisms depend on each other to live.

In Mrs. Calvird's class, 4th graders wrapped up their writing unit with Poetry Slam. Students sipped on hot chocolate as they sat back and enjoyed their peers' hard work!

THANK YOU SCHROEDER FAMILIES!

A message from Schroeder PTO - The Schroeder PTO would like to thank the many organizations and families for their generous donations for teacher appreciation week. Our Schroeder teachers and staff are truly wonderful! The donations show how amazing and dedicated our community is in supporting its teachers. In addition to the festivities and food this week that the PTO provided, every teacher was presented with a gift to show them a token of our appreciation! Thank you, donors, and thank you teachers, your hard work and dedication to our community is invaluable.

Special thank you to Schroeder PTO's Staff Appreciation chair, Mrs. Barauskas! Our orchestra students performed at Athens High School and band students at Troy High School. Along with our fifth graders, the Boulan Park Middle School and Troy High bands and orchestras performed. Our students enjoyed hearing them and getting a taste of what instrumental music is like beyond elementary school! Bravo to our talented fifth graders!

Schroeder Ducklings!

Thank you, Mrs. Stacey for enriching student experiences by sharing baby ducklings! Mrs. Stacey took the time to visit a local farm to collect five baby ducklings. Students and staff alike loved holding the ducklings and seeing them grow so fast!
