Service to others is a very dear value to us here at KSU TRIO, and we are committed to fostering that in the upcoming generation. As a tradition, every year we hold two holiday giving events to give back to the community and teach our students the importance of supporting others.

First, the KSU TRIO Thanksgiving event serves as a time for our students and staff to connect over food, games, and giving. We hold a canned food and coat drive for the students and their families, raising awareness and providing the opportunity for service. Students and their families then enjoy a hot meal, add to our Thankfulness Wall by adding what they are thankful for, and get supplies for the upcoming break.

During the winter holidays, KSU TRIO is fortunate to receive toys from Toys for Tots to donate to families in our community so that we can lend a helping hand during this holiday season. In addition to the toys, we give each family a holiday boxed dinner that includes various sides, desserts, along with a ham or turkey based of religious diets and supply levels.

Community and service are the backbone of success, and the holidays are an opportunity for our student to see us to put those values into action.
