Radnor musicians perform Outdoor Concerts for community October 2021

This October, Radnor Township School District orchestra students performed in a series of outdoor shows for friends, family, and community members.

Members of the Radnor High School string ensemble performed on October 20 at The Willows Park and members of the Ithan, Radnor, and Wayne 5th-grade orchestra and Radnor Middle School 6th-grade orchestra performed on October 28 at Radnor Middle School.

Radnor High School musicians performed an outdoor concert, "Starry Starry Night," at Willows Park in Radnor, PA on October 20, 2021. The event featured performances by the RHS string ensemble, as well as guest vocalists and other musicians.

Musical selections included Gymopedie No. 1 by Erik Satie, String Quartet #12 by Antonin Dvorak, "Gabriels Oboe" and "Cinema Paradiso" by Ennio Morricone, "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley, "Fly Me to the Moon" by Frank Sinatra, "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton, and "Moon River" by Henry Mancini.

The Radnor High School orchestra is led by director Tatyana Oksyuk.

ITHAN, RADNOR AND WAYNE ELEMENTARY AND RADNOR MIDDLE SCHOOLS

October 28, 2021 • Radnor Middle School

Members of the 5th-grade orchestra groups from Ithan, Radnor and Wayne elementary schools and the 6th-grade orchestra from Radnor Middle School performed for family, friends and community members on October 28 on the RMS basketball court.

Musical selections included "Lightly Row," "Avengers Theme," and "Abandoned Funhouse."

The RMS orchestra is led by director Anna Ivanenko and the 5th-grade orchestra by Nora McDonnell.

The RTSD Music Department is committed to developing students’ understanding of music, enabling students to participate in performing and creating music, and establishing a foundation for students’ life-long engagement with music. All RTSD students have the option to participate in the school orchestras beginning in 4th-grade.
