This year’s first-ever Lift! event drew 100 Goering Center members and community partners while welcoming many brand new faces to the Kingsgate Conference Center for a morning of rapid-fire presentations by thought leaders from across the Cincinnati region.
“This event sought to inspire business owners and their leadership teams to focus on pulling the big levers that will help them make an impact, together. Our speakers tackled big picture topics like organizational design, conscious communication, finding the courage to make, and stick to, decisions that enable breakthrough growth, and of course, what everyone needs to know about recruiting the top talent into your organization.” — Lisa Jonas, Goering Center Program Director
Lift! will be an annual event, showcasing the top speakers from the Goering Center learning community. A call for submissions will launch in the first quarter of 2020, and anyone affiliated with the Goering Center – core and associate members, corporate partners and friends of the Center – are encouraged to reach out to stand out on the Goering Center stage.
If you couldn’t attend this year’s Lift!, look for links to the video recordings in the November edition of this newsletter. To learn more about next year’s opportunity, contact Lisa Jonas at 513-556-7403.

Finding the needle in the waste-stack
The life of any person – young, old, successful, novice – in today’s “connected” world is built around the need for routines to ground the often chaotic environments and oppressive demand for our time. Leaders within a business utilize their time struggling to identify growth, while fearing change could hinder their current position within a market.
Lessons to be learned from HBO’s hit show "Succession"
HBO's hit show "Succession" has recently brought the importance of business succession planning into the public eye. Now in it's second season, "Succession" follows Logan Roy, owner of a global media conglomerate — Waystar Royco, and his children as they fight for control of the company when he falls ill. Perhaps if Waystar Royco had a plan in place before Logan's health declined, the family would not have fallen into dysfunction. But that wouldn't make for good TV.
