Director's Note

I am incredibly proud of the work the cast and crew of Elf Jr. has put into this show for the past two weeks. I always find it fun to revisit a show we’ve done previously and what better way to celebrate than with Christmas in July? Revisiting a show presents a personal challenge as a staff of “Okay, how do we take this production to the next level this second time around?” The most rewarding part is there are teens in this production that were also in our first production of “Elf Jr.” in 2016. The maturity of the teens for this production allowed us to focus on character development and intentionality making their actions and conversations more meaningful on stage. This cast has been so receptive to feedback and applying the notes given by the directors. My wish is that you carry the work we’ve done this session into your future productions and know that whether you’re the lead or in the ensemble, your part always matters and is impactful in developing the story. Enjoy the show! ~Lindsay Porter
