ORU Baseball 27 Conference Championships / 30 NCAA Regional Appearances / 1978 & 2023 College world Series Appearances

The Golden Eagles compiled one of the most historic seasons in program history in 2023 after reaching the College World Series for the first time since 1978. ORU, the third No. 4 seed in NCAA history to advance to the College World Series, reached the postseason after claiming its 21st Summit League Championship title. Making their 30th NCAA Regional appearance, 18th since 2001, the Golden Eagles swept the Stillwater Regional as they defeated No. 11 overall seed Oklahoma State, Washington and Dallas Baptist. ORU then rallied to take the final two of three on the road against Oregon in the Eugene Super Regional to punch its ticket to Omaha. The Golden Eagles finished with a program record 52 wins and a No. 5 ranking in the Collegiate Baseball poll.

In 2023, Cade Denton led the nation with a program-record 15 saves en route to being named the NCBWA Stopper of the Year. The consensus First Team All-American also became the 19th ORU hurler since 1998 to earn Summit League Pitcher of the Year honors. The Rowlett, Texas, native finished his historic career with a 1.86 ERA, which ranks third all-time in program history.

In his lone season with the Golden Eagles, Jonah Cox took the nation by storm with a 47-game hit streak, which marked the third-longest in NCAA history. The 2023 Summit League Player and Newcomer of the Year led the nation with 114 hits, which also set a program and League record. Along with Denton, Cox was tabbed a consensus First Team All-American.

Shortstop Mac McCroskey was tabbed as the Summit League Defensive Player of the Year.
The Golden Eagles landed a conference-best seven players on the All-Summit League First Team.
In total, ORU earned a conference-best 13 All-Summit League selections and swept all five special awards.
The Golden Eagles have had at least seven players earn all-conference honors for 10 consecutive seasons.
In the 2023 draft, the Golden Eagles had three players selected in the Top 10 rounds, marking the program's most since 1981. Overall, ORU saw four players drafted, bringing the program's total to 144.
Center fielder Jonah Cox was the first Golden Eagle off the board in the 2023 draft after being selected in the sixth round by the Oakland A's. With the selection, Cox became the 141st draft pick in program history.
Closer Cade Denton followed a few picks later in the sixth round as the junior landed with the Colorado Rockies. Denton became the 142nd draft pick in program history.
Reliever Jacob Widener heard his name called in the ninth round by the Kansas City Royals. With the selection, Widener became the 143rd draft pick in program history.
Shortstop Mac McCroskey was the final Golden Eagle taken in the 2023 MLB Draft as the Los Angeles Angels selected him in the 20th round. McCroskey became the 144th draft pick in program history.
Jacob Godman became the fifth Golden Eagle to earn a shot at the Major League level as the catcher signed a free agent deal with the Atlanta Braves.
