Ancient Chinese Punishments Abbey leith

If any laws were broken in ancient China, the punishments were very severe. The seriousness of each crime determined the form of punishment that would be received. For example, a small crime would result in a beating from a bamboo stick which was considered a very 'little punishment', and the worst punishment was they weren't allowed any support from their families and all their possessions were taken away from them. Then the criminal was tortured cruelly and executed the same day.

Slow slicing

Slow slicing, was a form of torture and execution used in China from roughly 900 AD until it was banned in 1905. In this form of execution, a knife was used to remove portions of the body over an extended period of time, eventually resulting in death. The order was eyebrows would be cut off first and then they would cut off the shoulders, chest and then arms and legs, They always leave the heart till last. You would get slow slicing if you committed treason, or killing someone's parents.

Punishments for women

If a girl insulted her parents she would be strangled. If she wounded her parents she would be cut up into bits. This is not influential to our modern world because we do not have that harsh punishments. There would be no exceptions or no excuses. This does relate to our central idea because if you were guilty you would not be able to have any excuses or reasons to get out of it.One of the ways of torture was to twist arms or legs around a pole, slow slicing, execution and torturing fingers.
