If you live in Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, D.C., Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, or Wisconsin you can go to this website and register online.
If you live in a state not mentioned above: you can fill out and mail this form to to location for your state (they come in multiple languages if needed), or you can go to your local DMV, army recruitment center, or a state or county public assistance office. These options work for ANY state.
To register to vote, you must meet the following criteria: be a U.S. citizen, be over the age of 18 on election day, meet your states residency requirements (this is mainly for out-of-state college students and people who have recently moved), and have any documents needed ready before the registration deadline. Some states place restrictions on people who have been convicted of a felony.
