What an amazing half term we have had in our class, some excellent learning and great progress, which we are so proud of.
Literacy - step into the land of traditional tales.
Our new approach to writing has brought some amazing outcomes, which we are so proud of.
Our children are becoming more confident with their forming letters correctly, writing sentences with capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.
We enjoyed retelling traditional tales in the environment.
Our first traditional tale was The three little pigs.
We sequenced the story then did our own retell of the story.
We also did a description of the three little pigs.
After reading the real story of the real story of the three little pigs, we then wrote a letter from the wolf to the little pigs explaining that he was sorry.
Our second traditional tale was Goldilocks and the three bears.
We enjoyed making porridge, then writing the instructions to show how we made it.
We read a non-fiction book about bears and then did a description of a bear and added facts that we had found out.
Our visit to Sundown Adventure
We enjoyed our visit to Sundown adventure, Class 1 enjoyed a very wet day, whilst Class 2 enjoyed hit hot sunshine.
We really enjoyed visiting the fairy tale houses.
Maths
We introduced Numbots in maths,the children were so quick and enjoyed applying the skills taught during the year.
We also joined in the TTRockstars day
We have been adding and subtracting numbers.
People, culture and communities
We have been talking about Buddhism and other religions which we have found out about this.
Our Sport’s day
It was great to see so many Parents and Grandparents at our sports day.
Our children have enjoyed our PE lessons this year developing gross motor skills, including their coordination, balance and ball skills.
All the staff have had an amazing year and the progress your children have made has been exceptional. We can’t wait to work with Year 1 to see the progress they make in the future. Thank you to al our fantastic families who we’ve loved working with, your children are so lucky to have such amazing people around them who are so supportive. Stay safe and have a lovely summer.
