VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE 2022 GREATER LOS ANGELES HOMELESS COUNT

The City of Temple City is seeking 20 or more volunteers to partake in its 2022 Homeless Street Count, which will occur on Tuesday, January 25 at 8:00 P.M. The annual count, organized by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), gathers information to determine and request how much federal funding is needed for homeless services programs, both countywide and in the San Gabriel Valley. Work to be done by volunteers is considered a passive count. Volunteers will not approach or engage the homeless for safety reasons. A mandatory one-hour training will be held before the count. For more information and to register, visit www.theycountwillyou.org.

For more information about the homeless count please email iflores@templecity.us or visit www.theycountwillyou.org.

SENIOR DATABASE

The Aging Adults 50+ Database registration form is now available! The City of Temple City and the Committee on Aging are working together to create a database of residents 50 years of age and older. By requesting and filling out the form, Temple City seniors will receive emergency notifications in a timely manner and will be informed by the city about critical resources, especially in times of crisis. The database can also assist in keeping aging adults connected to the community. When you complete and submit the form, your contact information will be added to the database to receive critical community updates. Email Parks & Recreation Coordinator Roman Rodriguez at rrodriguez@templecity.us to request your form or call the Live Oak Park Community Center at 626-579-0461.
