Prokaryotes

E.coli

Streptococcus Bacterium

Streptomyces

Prokaryotes are surrounded by a strong wall that enables them to live in the harshest environments. They can exit in sub-zero temperatures and even survive through stomach acid due to this protective layer.

Cell Parts

Nucleoid -is a region within the cell of a prokaryote that contains all or most of the genetic material

Ribosomes -The Job of the ribosome is to create protein while moving along a strand of RNA. It is most commonly found in the rough endoplasmic reticulum but can be found in the cytoplasm.

Pili- It is a small arm like structure that bacteria use to attach to host cells

Capsule-It is a polysaccharide layer that lies outside the cell

Flagellum- It is a whip- like structure that allows the cell to move around

Plasmid- It is a small, circular, double-stranded DNA molecule and provide bacteria with antibiotic resistance.

Cell Wall- Cell wall acts similar to how it does with plants. It protects the inerds of the prokaryotes

Cell Membrane - The cell membrane is the next layer below the cell wall that contains the prokaryotic cell

Difference

The main difference between eukaryotes and prokaryotes is that eukaryotes have a nucleus and prokaryotes do not
