ITA National Assistant Coach of the Year

Kevin Ye from Emory University has been named the 2023 ITA National Assistant Coach of the Year.

Ye has been close to the Emory Women's Tennis program for almost ten years now. Starting as a volunteer in 2013, he has consistently provided support to the Emory players and coaches alike, both on the court and off.

This year, Ye joined the Eagles staff full-time as the assistant coach and has helped lead the team to another successful year. During his year here, he has been integral in developing some of the top doubles teams in the nation, with the Eagles No. 1 team being ranked No. 1 in the region, their No. 2 team being ranked No. 9, and their No. 3 team currently holding a perfect 11-0 record against DIII opponents.

Not only that, Ye has also served as a constant source of support for the Emory team, as he firmly understands that the culture of the team and a culture of success must first be built with trust and relationships. Ye has done anything and everything that was asked of him and taken the challenges of being an assistant coach in stride.

He helped lead the Eagles to a 14-7 record in 2023 in which they reached the NCAA Tournament and a Semifinal finish, losing to eventual National Champions, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

A Letter From Head Coach Bridget Disher

Kevin is absolutely deserving of this award.

Although he has been around our program for almost ten years now, this was his first year stepping into a full-time role. Kevin is an excellent on-court coach, but what really sets him apart is his genuine love for the program and the level of care he takes to ensure each player is supported, in tennis and in life.

It is rare to find someone who is so fully committed to the betterment of others and we are so lucky to have him on staff. We owe much of our success to the commitment he showed each and every day this year.

Thank you and congrats to you, Kevin!
