Content Info For The Week
Math (Swindell, Beasley, and Meeks):
Students will begin the week dissecting the anatomy of a line. They will learn about slope intercept form, graphing two points on a line and how to find slope.
Algebra I (Meeks):
This week students will be studying function notation as well as the characteristics of functions such as domain, range, discrete, continuous, linear, nonlinear, and more.
ELA (Styron and Bright):
This week students will use clues in the text as a strategy to determine the meaning of words and phrases, and identify an author’s purpose and explain how the author shares what he or she thinks through the text.
ELA (Lee):
This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will continue their study of our in-class novel Hidden Figures. We will look closely at the way the author uses elements of plot to create a more story-like structure for this nonfiction text. We will also analyze outside texts related to
9th Grade Lit (Lee):
This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will continue their analysis of the classic novel To Kill a Mockingbird. Students will examine the fallout from the verdict for Tom Robinson's case, and will consider the ways our main characters have changed over the course of the novel.
Science (Carver and Lewis):
Students will be finishing up this unit focusing on Newton's 2nd Law of Motion. Students will explore stations this week over the 2nd Law and prepare them for their test next week on 1/19 & 1/20
Social Studies (MacArthur and Lewis):
This week in Mr. MacArthus's class, students will be learning about the major events that took place in Georgia during the American Civil War. Students will have a focus on the Anaconda Plan, the Battle of Chickamauga, Sherman's March to the Sea, and Andersonville Prison.
