Director of Grand Haven Cyber School, Kevin Berko tries to implement more positivity into the building. ¨This will affect our school environment because people will start to realize how much every word truly means to students,¨ Berko said.

Junior Kirsten Dykstra smiles at the students joined up in the middle enjoying the music. This is Dykstra´s second time helping out with the chalkboard project.

¨I participated in the Chalkboard Project when it was at Grand Haven High School last year, and I thought it really made a difference,¨ Junior Natalia Russell said. Russell and her friends decided to help out and impact their school. ¨Another reason why I stood up and advocated for Central High School this year is because people need to realize how much words effect people... taking words to heart.¨

Senior, Keithan McBride poses for the camera. ¨I participated to put out there that everyone really does matter,¨ McBride said. Words have affected him, so he is eager to make a difference in his school. ¨Everyone has a purpose, and people really need to respect each other.¨

This is sophomore, Anna Clover´s first time helping out. She participated last year as a freshman in the project. ¨I think it went very well,¨ said Clover. ¨I feel like it let people open up and be vulnerable with their peers... words do matter and they can hurt.¨
