COR Barra i Taula by chef Santi Taura

April 21, 2022...Chef Santi Taura now offers an informal traditional Mallorcan dining experience in the heart of Palma. Located across from the Mercat de O'livar, COR Barra i Taula offers offers tapas, typical Mallorcan dishes, and plates to share. Simple ingredients are turned into perfection. Santi makes full use of the island’s products without closing the door to foreign ingredients, seeking to enrich the proposal of "cosmopolitan Mallorcan cuisine," while always respecting, first and foremost, their authentic flavors.

COR also presents a selection of drinks depending on the time of day that will complement the gastronomic proposal; from coffee, teas and infusions, to vermouth, beers and a good wine selection. This relaxed restaurant offers a nod to the local way of life with plenty of terrace dining, while indoors there is a welcoming industrial-designed themed bar, and a slightly more formal dining area upstairs.

The Menu

Mini squid sandwiches, anchovy and olive skewers, patatas bravas, and a selection of cheeses are just some of the ways to start the COR Barra i Taula experience. You'll find everything from Santi's famous grilled rice dishes, Andalusian style squid, classic croquettes of Mallorcan-style fish, Spanish omelets, Gamba roja, classic steak tartare, sandwiches and salads.

Starting this April, COR has launched a new menu meant to be shared! Mallorca Nigiris - "pa amb oli", a new grilled rice dish with sucking black pork and red prawns made with "bombeta" rice from Sa Pobla and fried Mallorquin lamb chops. Here he continues to delve into the culinary memory and recipes of the island, focusing on seasonal products at their peak.

Chef Santi Taura is well known across the island for his commitment to local produce and his innovative cooking style. His restaurant DINS Santi Taura located inside hotel El Llorenç Parc de la Mar was awarded with a Michelin Star as well as two Guia Repsols, both in 2021 and 2022. This is the culmination of a lifetime for Chef Taura who has been dedicated to exploring the origins of cuisine from Mallorca. He has delved into ancient recipes and transformed them into his passion on a plate. Guests can only experience this unique dinner adventure at El Lorrenç and it's important to book far in advance as seats are often not available for three months.
