BWIR Founder Felèsha Love

In 2017, educator and published author Felèsha Love founded BWIR after recognizing the disparities in how the contributions of black women were reviewed. She challenged herself to remove women out of the shadows and into historic conversations. In 2019, Love launched the BWIR podcast and TV show. In 2021, she developed a partnership with the Library of Congress’s Radio Preservation Task Force (RPTF) and the Atlanta University Center Consortium’s Robert Woodruff Library to research and document Black radio history.

Love serves on the African American and Civil Rights Caucus, and the College, Community, and Educational Radio Caucus for the Library of Congress’s Radio Preservation Task Force (RPTF).
