Our Best
This week, we have had a very busy week in school even though we have been school for four days!!
Junior Sports Day
On Tuesday morning, we held our Junior Sports Day. We managed to beat the rain and it was lovely to see our school field full of parents cheering on the children. Congratulations to the winning house Clywedog! Everyone had a great day!
Moving Up Morning
On Wednesday morning, all children moved to their new class to prepare for September.
Year 6 Leavers Day at Nant Mill
Year 6 had a great time with St Mary’s School Brymbo at Nant Mill for our special leavers day. They took part in lots of fun activities and spent time reflecting on their time at Minera School.
Year 5/6 Visit to Llangollen
On Thursday, Year 5/6 visited the Llangollen Eisteddfod. This was our first visit to the Eisteddfod for three years. Everyone had a great time and they enjoyed the concert in the Pavilion.

Other News
TT Rockstars House Competition
After Clywedog were victorious in our Sports Day, there is a chance for the other houses to win in our TT Rockstars competition which has started today and will run until lunchtime on Friday 15th July. The competition is open to children in Year 1 to Year 6. Any TT Rockstar game that children play between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. will earn points for their house. The winning house will be announced in school next Friday. If your child needs a reminder of their log ins, then please contact their class teacher. Children can play at home and will also have opportunities to play in school.
End of Year Events
Thursday 14th July - End of Year Disco - 5pm to 6pm
We are pleased to invite everyone to our end of year disco on Thursday 14th July. The disco starts at 5pm and end at 6pm.
The format of the disco will be similar to the disco we held at Christmas.
- Entrance to the disco is £2 per pupil and will include sweets and a drink. (There is no charge for children who are already in After School Club).
- Children in Foundation Phase: to be brought to the main school entrance at 5:00 p.m. (unless they are in After School Club) collected from the main entrance at 6:00 p.m. (please wait on the school yard). The Foundation Phase disco will take place in Mrs Tennant's Classroom.
- Children in Year 3 to 6: to be brought to the school hall entrance at 5:00 p.m (unless they are in After School Club) collected from the hall entrance at 6:00 p.m. (please wait on the school yard).
- Unfortunately, parents will not be able to attend the disco apart from Friends of Minera helpers.
Friday 15th July - Year 6 Leaver's Service at Minera School.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to our Leavers' Service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday 15th July in the school hall. You are also invited to join us in class for refreshments afterwards.
To help us prepare, please indicate how many people are likely to be coming, please complete the online form.
Non Uniform Day - Wednesday 20th July
On Wednesday 20th July, children can come into school in their own clothes as a reward for their hard work this year!
