LeopardUV® Commercial, Industrial, High Performance UV Systems

Disinfection

UV Technology is a proven technology used for disinfection purposes. Ultraviolet radiation in the 254nM wavelength penetrates the cell walls of various pathogens and rips apart the DNA so that it cannot reproduce, rendering it inactive through a mechanical means. One cannot overtreat with UV radiation, it adds no odor, no taste, and no by-products, making it a safe and effective means of disinfection that has been widely used for the last 70 years.

Ozone Destruction

UV radiation in the 254nM Wavelength removes residual ozone in water. Ozone will absorb the UV energy and rapidly break down to dissolved oxygen. When exposed to a fluence of 90mJ/cm², a concentration of 1.0 ppm can be reduced to a level <0.1ppm (undetectable).

Chlorine Destruction

Very High intensity UV radiation in the 185nM wavelength can destroy concentrations of free chlorine, making it a useful tool to remove chlorine in front of expensive RO membranes instead of carbon beds.

TOC Reduction

High doses of UV radiation used in conjunction with Reverse Osmosis and Deionization can produce powerful hydroxy radicals that can oxidize organic carbons, a process useful in the microelectronics industries.

Dual Lamp Technologies

Available in both High Output and Amalgam lamp technologies for the ultimate flexibility in managing flow rate vs footprint. Amalgam lamps have double the output of High Output lamps resulting in fewer lamps per flow rate or to maximize dosage for special applications when needed.
The Leopard UV Series is expressly designed to meet the requirements of the Food and Beverage, Pharmaceutical, and Microelectronics industries, yet is made simply enough for in-plant personnel to easily troubleshoot and service.

Designed to provide high performance in various applications with flows from 40 GPM to 1600+ GPM. Built to stand tall against aggressive ultrapure water.

Reverse Osmosis and DI water is highly aggressive because almost all impurities have been removed, leaving behind hydroxy radicals, which are are great oxidizing agents because they want to combine with something. They will seek out carbon that has been raised to the surface by the welding process and start oxidizing the welds. For that reason, higher grade 316L stainless steel with less impurities must be used. In addition, the units need to be electropolished, which draws out impurities both in the surface steel and the welds, plus smooths out microscopic rough spots where oxidation can occur. The units are also passivated, which seals and anneals the welds for long service in ultrapure water. Using inferior 304 SS or skimping on the electropolishing and passivation process can cause pinholes in the welds and premature failure of the chamber.

Disinfection flow rates from 40 GPM to over 1600 GPM
Rugged, High Flow capability, 316L stainless steel, electropolished and passivated
Engineered to last in demanding, industrial applications.
Heavy duty machined heads for 150 PSI rating - each unit is static pressure tested to 225 PSI before leaving our facility.
Smooth fit and finish. Flange fittings are standard. Sanitary tri-clamp fittings are available as an option.
Interior finish to Ra15 or better at no extra cost, suitable for pharmaceutical standards.
Advanced quartz sealing system. The beveled rim on the head squeezes the O-Ring for a superior seal on the sleeve. The compression nut spins against the friction ring to uniformly compress the O-Ring and prevent galling.
Closeup view of the sealing system
The compression nut cap holds the lamp harness in place. Cap with hole for the lamp harness side, and blank cap for the other side.
Head Alignment Pin - Never misalign the lamps again when replacing the head gasket. #1 lamp is always where it's supposed to be.
Omigosh! There's a hole in the head! Not a problem - it's for the alignment pin!
Two Piece Mounting System. Bracket affixes to head flange in 3 different places for full four-quadrant mounting rotation.

Need a UV Monitor? The LeopardUV® system has two options

UV Monitoring Systems consist of 3 components - A UV sensor probe, a cable to transmit the signal, and a reporting device. The sensor probe is excited by UV radiation and generates a small voltage (or current depending on sensor type), which is carried to the reporting device by the cable and is converted to a readout on the monitor display. A UV monitor is influenced by both lamp integrity and water quality, giving a report on the overall performance of the system and will alarm when irradiance levels fall below design parameters.

Our Standard UV Monitor. Everything you need for basic UV Monitoring
  • 0-100% Relative UV digital display
  • UV Pre-Alarm
  • UV Main Alarm w/relay
  • Lamp Lifetime alarm
  • 4-20 mA output for remote monitoring

(The Standard UV Monitor is only available on short 6" diameter units)

Enclosures - Polycarbonate or 304 Stainless steel?

Our basic enclosure is made of polycarbonate with a clear door for easy viewing. The smaller enclosure is used in 1-2 lamp models, and the larger enclosure is used for 3-4 lamp models (some exceptions occur, depending on options)
Our 1-2 lamp HO polycarbonate enclosure
Large Polycarbonate enclosure, for up to 6 lamps (Lamp size and technology dependent)
304 SS is optional on smaller models, standard on larger models. Shown above is a larger enclosure made for an 8 lamp long high output model. All of our SS enclosures have a clear viewing window for at-a-glance display of critical functions.
Enclosure sizes/types vary according to lamp type, system sizes, and options. UV superstore personnel can guide you through the options.
