Content Info For The Week
Math (Swindell, Beasley, and Meeks):
1.) Monday: We will finish working with scientific notation by completing our task cards that we started on Friday. 2.) Tuesday: We will complete our study guide for unit two.3.) Wednesday: We will play review games to prepare for our assessment on Thursday. 4.) Thursday: Unit 2 assessment. 5.) Friday: Field Trip No homework this week or next week!
Algebra I (Meeks):
1.) Monday: Finish up with simplifying radicals with and without variables. 2.) Tuesday: We will begin adding and subtracting radicals. 3.) Wednesday: We will quiz over simplifying radicals and adding/subtracting radicals. We will begin multiplyiing radicals. 4.) Thursday: We will wrap up multiplying radicals. 5.) Field Trip. No homework this week or next week!
ELA (Styron and Bright):
This week scholar's will determine an author’s purpose and explain how text details help the author achieve that purpose, use active reading, viewing, and listening as they continue working through their individualized and differentiated app segments and continue reading their selected novels, and use context as a clue to the meaning of an unknown word or phrase.
ELA (Lee):
This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will begin Unit 2. During this unit, we will focus on the components of an effective argument in both literature and our writing. The novel we will be reading this unit is To Kill A Mockingbird, which students will closely analyze for various themes. We will end our novel study with a DBQ examining the power dynamics of characters within the novel.
9th Grade Lit (Lee):
This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will begin Unit 2. During this unit, students will focus on how an author can effectively create suspense and tension in works of fiction. We will also focus on writing effective arguments. We will focus on several texts this unit, the main one being Edgar Allan Poe's short story The Tell-Tale Heart.
Science (Carver and Lewis):
Students will be learning about the conservation of mass dealing with open and closed systems.
Social Studies (MacArthur and Lewis):
This week in Mr. MacArthur's class, students will begin unit 4 covering Georgia's government. Students will learn about the foundation of Georgia's government, the rights and responsibilities of georgia citizens, and qualifications for Georgia elections.
