Arrested Development

Arrested Development is a television sitcom based on a dysfunctional, rich family, the Bluths. The Bluths own a real estate company, the Bluth Company, where the family had made their money from. However, when George Sr. is arrested for treason and fraud, things change. Michael becomes the CEO, and has to keep the family together.

Michael Bluth

Michael Bluth is the main protagonist of the show. Most of the time he is the only thing keeping the family together. He is the self-proclaimed "only sane one in the family". However, he has proven to be just as crazy as the rest of his family. He constantly has a false sense of superiority and has to be in control of everything.

George Bluth, Sr.

George Sr. is the father of the Bluths. He started the Bluth company and made it successful. But, he also worked with Saddam Hussein to build houses in Iraq. He was then arrested a decade later and is either in jail or in hiding for the entirety of the show. This doesn't stop him from being manipulative though. He uses Gob, Michael's older brother, to secretly run the company.

Oscar Bluth

Oscar is George Sr's less successful twin brother. He has been given handouts all his life and so has never had to work. Because of never being stressed by work, he has a full head of hair, which Lucille finds irresistible. He moves in with Lucille while George Sr. is in prison. He is known for constantly smoking marijuana and being high.

Lucille Bluth

Lucille is the wife of George and mother of the Bluths. She is used to a life of luxury and wants to be rich anyway possible. This makes her the most manipulative of the family. She also shows narcissism and abuse to her children. Some of her quotes are "I don't care for Gob", and "You want your belt to buckle, not your chair." She also is an alcoholic and takes prescription medications constantly. Out of all of the family, Lucille is the most villainous.

Gob Bluth

Gob is the older brother of Michael. He has low-self esteem and is constantly jealous of his brother's success and approval from their father. Because of this, he does everything that his father tells him to do in hopes of gaining his father's approval. Despite this, Gob loves Michael more than anyone else in the family. Instead of real employment, Gob works as a failing magician whose "illusions" rarely work out.

Lindsay Fünke

Lindsay Bluth is the (later learned to be adopted) daughter of George Sr. and is married to Tobias Fünke. . Lindsay is known for attending and hosting many charity auctions, as long as she gets something out of it while making herself look better. Although Lindsay and Lucille both somewhat hate each other, they are both very alike. They both are materialistic, self-centered, and care about their image. However, Lindsay has good at the bottom of her heart.

Buster Bluth

Buster is the youngest son of the Bluths. It is later revealed that his biological father is Oscar, George's twin brother. Lucille has been dominant and controlling over Buster his entire life, leading him to be socially inept and have constant panic attacks. He is terrified of everything, including: oceans, closed spaces, open spaces, sheep, seals, and birds. Later in the series, he loses his hand to a seal and gets a hook.

Tobias Fünke

Tobias is the husband of Lindsay and father of Maeby. He was a practicing psychiatrist until he lost his license for giving CPR to a man who wasn't having a heart attack. He is known for many things, including: his "never-nude" syndrome (wears cut-off shorts under his underwear), his constant unaware innuendos, and being a standby understudy for the Blue Man Group. At one time he was licensed as an analyst and a therapist, which he then proceeded to call himself an "analrapist" (pronounced ah-nal-ruh-pist). However, he later changed this to "theralyst."

George Michael Bluth

George Michael is the son of Michael. He is known for being quiet and awkward. He has a crush on his cousin, Maeby, who he doesn't know if he's related to for most of the show. He later begins to date Ann, a devout Christian, to distract himself from Maeby.

Maeby Fünke

Maeby is the daughter of Lindsay and Tobias. She is often overlooked and even outright ignored by her parents most of the time, yet she is indepedent. She conned her way into a job as a Hollywood movie executive and maintains her fake double life for months.
