Pop music a term meaning "popular". It started in 1950's and 1960's driving from Rock n' Roll.

What makes pop music pop?

  • Short to medium-length songs
  • Written in basic format
  • Often the in verse-chorus sctructure
  • Repeats choruses

Definition: A body of music which is distinguishable from popular jazz and folk music.

Rock Music

Rock music also called Rock n' Roll. Started more around 1950's. Was mostly popular in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Definition: Harsher and often self-consciously more serious than its predecessor, it was initially charactorized by musical experimentation and drug-related lyrics.

Pop music usually tells you that everything is okay, while rock music tells you that it's not okay, but you can change it.

Country Music

It sarted in the 1920's in The United State. It took its roots from the southeastern gerne of American folk music.

Definition: It is a traditionally a mixture of ballads and dance tunes played characteristically on fiddle, guitar, steel guitar, drums and keyboards.

Country music, live it, love it, breath it.
