Week 2 Not a great title i know…

Might as well start with PE as anywhere! Hockey on Tuesday which I’m afraid I failed to take photos of to balancing for sports skills on the Wednesday. I think tummy muscles had quite a work out!
We carried on looking at the Stone Age. Now two and a half million years is a lot to pack into a 7 week term so, we’re starting broad and narrowing it down very soon! We looked at three images sources from the internet to get us thinking about the three main periods of the Stone Age. How accurate or not the images chosen are or how helpful they are to us in understanding life at the time we haven’t yet discussed but, that is something we will need to look at!
We tried using basic shapes in art to help us draw some British animals. We focused on the outline using some simple shapes to fill space rather than too much shading. It’s charcoal next week….
In computing, we have started looking at the devices and apps we use and thinking about how they actually work. Things are clearly very different now from when I were a lad. Apparently these things don’t do what you want them to just because you have shouted at them when they’ve stopped working. Who knew?!
In our reading sessions, we have been reading an extract from a book by Dick King-Smith who also wrote the Sheep-Pig, our class reader. In English, we have been learning a story as a Talk 4 Write based on Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamura. We’ll move on to writing our own version next week.

Our maths lessons are looking at number - particularly ordering and comparing them. Number lines have featured this week along with a bit of revision of partitioning.
