Content Info For The Week
Math (Swindell, Beasley, and Meeks):
Students will quiz over angle relationships on Tuesday. Students will being working on triangle theorems this week.
Algebra I (Meeks):
Scholars will complete their transformation unit with dilations on Monday. Tuesday they will quiz over transformations. Wednesday through Friday, we will begin our real number system and exponent properties.
ELA (Styron and Bright):
This week students in R180 ELA class willdetermine the central idea of a text and summarize the text, avoiding personal opinions and judgments, plan, organize, and write an informative paragraph with a topic sentence, central idea, supporting details, and a conclusion, demonstrate knowledge of workshop 7 key vocabulary terms by completing the Interim vocab assessment on Wedsnesday Aug 31st, demonstrate knowledge of skills and concepts learned so far during workshop 7 by completing the Interim assessment on Thurs Sept 1st, and use content-area vocabulary and generate relevant examples to deepen understanding of a central content-area concept.
ELA (Lee):
This week in Mrs. Lee's class, we will continue our focus on elements of a narrative. Students will have a quiz over narrative elements on Friday, September 2nd.
9th Grade Lit (Lee):
This week in Mrs. Lee's class, students will continue their analysis of The Odyssey. We will have a quiz over Part 1 of the The Odyssey on Tuesday, August 30th.
Science (Carver and Lewis):
Students will be completing their study guide over Unit 1: Energy on Monday and Tuesday in order to prepare for their Unit test on Wednesday and Thursday.
Social Studies (MacArthur and Lewis):
This week, students will begin working on Unit 2: The Mississippian Indians and European Exploration. Students will identify unique characteristics of the Mississippian Indians in order to eventually build their own Mississippian chiefdom. Additionally, we will look at the early interactions with European conquistadors such as Hernando DeSoto. Students will have a formative standards check this Friday.
