FOUNDERS AND HISTORY
Aubrey Walter and Bob Mellor founded the group in London on October 13, 1970. Walter and Mellor went to different conventions together to help and grow equality for LGBT groups.
WHY WAS IT CREATED?
The Gay Liberation Front was created after the Stonewall Inn protest, where many activists protested about the police brutality to gay men. The group was made to gather the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community to fight for social equality.
HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE
GLF helped LGBT have more society acceptance and makes them more comfortable and accepting of their sexuality.

CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT IMPACT
The GLF was important to the overall civil rights movement because it gained equality to not only LGBT community, but gathered people together to fight for equal rights as a whole. If it were not for the GLF, equality would not be given to all and exclude a whole group of closeted people. More LGBT would be more open about their sexuality without feeling socially ashamed.
