Lone Mountain Eagle Eye March 6, 2023

Lone Mountain Families,

Welcome to Parent Teacher Conference Week. I know that our teachers and students have been preparing this past week to share with you all of the growth and learning that they have done this year. Thank you for making time so that we can share this progress with you. As a reminder on these conference weeks our school schedule is a little different. Wednesday is a normal early release day with school ending at 2 PM. Thursday and Friday are half days and elementary school dismisses at 12:30 on these days.

Another friendly reminder that students should not have their cell phones/devices or Apple watches out and accessible during the school day. Phones need to be on vibrate or turned off and stored in your child's backpack. Following these school cell phone/device procedures helps minimize distractions during class, prevents cheating, ensures student safety, and promotes social interaction among students at recess and lunch. Please help your student remember to adhere to these school policies. Thank you!

I wish you all a wonderful week. If I may help you or your child in any way please do not hesitate to reach out.

Respectfully, Emily Hill

LONE MOUNTAIN NEWS

"SOAR" EXPECTATIONS AT LONE MOUNTAIN

This year we continue with our positive behavior interventions and "SOAR" expectations for students to follow in the classroom and around campus. The acronym SOAR stands for Safety, Ownership for your actions/words, Attitude, and Respect. These are character traits that we talk about daily within the classrooms and around campus. When these specific traits are shown staff members can give each student a SOAR card that they label with their name and then drop into a raffle for a monthly prize drawing.

Congratulations to our February SOAR ticket winners who were drawn last week. Way to go- Abigail, Kenzie, Maya, Maddox, Alle, Harper, Sydney, Moxie, Madi, Avery, Sasha, and Stephanie.

LONE MOUNTAIN TAX CREDIT OPPORTUNITY

Please join us in our efforts to provide continuing opportunities for our students. Arizona’s tax law (ARS 43-1089.01) allows families a tax credit of up to $400 for married couples and $200 for individuals.

Here at Lone Mountain our tax credit donations are used primarily for-

  • STEAM Learning
  • Sports and Clubs
  • Playground Equipment and Shade structure
  • Capital Items- such as technology
  • Programs Most in Need- which allows our Site Council to choose how to spend the money.

Please consider donating and contributing to the great things we have happening on our campus.

Visit the CCUSD website to donate and select Lone Mountain with your choice of how to allocate your tax dollars. https://www.ccusd93.org/Page/4775

LEARNING LAST WEEK AT LONE MOUNTAIN

From the classroom to the playground, learning at Lone Mountain is always fun! Last week our students celebrated Read Across America Week by reading to miniature horses in the library. Students also learned geometry and put their skills to use as they constructed their ideal playgrounds, second graders made timelines of their lives, and first grade grade wrote about the best part of themselves. Fifth graders were busy preparing for Junior Achievement's Biztown and held mayoral elections. Congratulations to Kaitlyn for being elected as our 5th grade mayoral representative. Way to go Eagles!
