Reps for Retinoblastoma Jake Olson's bench press at USC Pro day has raised $48,000 and counting for cancer research

USC long snapper Jake Olson has inspired thousands of people with his perseverance in the face of tremendous adversity.

After being born with retinoblastoma, a rare cancer that affects the retina, he had his left eye removed at 10 years old. The day before having his right eye removed at age 12, which rendered him completely blind, he attended a USC football practice as a special guest.

Years later, Olson not only joined the USC football team, but successfully snapped the ball in three USC games at the Coliseum.

Day in and day out, he has used his platform as a D-I football player for good, and Wednesday was no exception.

Olson participated in the bench press portion of USC's Pro Day in order to raise money for the clinical trial of a device which could cure retinoblastoma.

When the time finally came, Olson did not disappoint. He posted 17 reps on the bench and raised nearly $50,000.

Liam made sure to tell Olson, "I'm proud of you" when the long snapper completed his impressive feat.
