Feb. 16: Members of the Endowment Justice Coalition have called for Yale’s divestment from the fossil fuel industry, filing a complaint in February that the University’s continued investment violates state law. Lukas Flippo.

Apr. 28: Hundreds rallied in April for the University to recognize Local 33, Yale’s unrecognized graduate student union. Megan Vaz.

May 30: Nick Fisk GRD ’23, the first non-binary president of the Graduate and Professional Student Senate, took office. Tigerlily Hopson.
May 25: In May, Pericles Lewis was announced as the Dean of Yale College, succeeding Marvin Chun. Benjamin Hernandez.

June 19: The arrest of Randy Cox — a 36-year-old Newhallville resident — resulted in his serious injury and paralysis, sparking protested throughout the month. Cox would come to be represent by well-know civil rights lawyer Benjamin Crump. Yash Roy.

Sept. 7: Both City and University infrastructure was overwhelmed by month’s worth of rain that came down in just over eight hours. Zoe Berg.
Sept. 25: Student band Strictly Platonic made their 2022-23 school year debut the Alpha Epsilon Pi house with two new band members in tow. Gavin Guerrette.
Oct. 6: Students gathered on Cross Campus to protest healthcare options and the University’s ties to Supreme Court justices who voted to overturn Roe v. Wade. Zoe Berg.
Oct. 7: The Yale football team will debuted new commemorative jerseys against Dartmouth to celebrate 150 years of Yale Football. Zoe Berg.
Oct. 11: The Yale Dramat put on their first fall show — The Government Inspector, satirical comedy tells the story of corrupted officials and was originally written by Ukrainian-born novelist Nikolai Gogol.
Oct. 13: Over a thousand people marched to call for Yale to remain union-neutral at Local 33 rally supporting graduate students in their longtime fight for a contract with better working conditions and pay, as well as recognition as University employees. Tenzin Jorden.
Nov. 8: On the eve of the midterm elections, key Connecticut Democratic candidates and officials stressed the importance of voting to protect democracy at a gathering. Democrats would go on to largely win Connecticut elections. Zoe Berg.
Nov. 19: Yale running back Tre Peterson (0) dives into the end zone for a touchdown at the annual Harvard-Yale Game. Yale won the game becoming the champions of the Ivy League. Zoe Berg.
Dec. 5: After capping off one of their most decorated seasons in Bulldog history, Yale’s volleyball team lost against against fifth-seeded University of Central Florida in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. June Sun.
