ITA National Player of the Year
Fiona Crawley from the University of North Carolina has been named the 2023 ITA National Player of the Year.
Crawley had one of the most impressive seasons by an individual during the 2022-23 season.
Beginning in the fall, Crawley went 17-0 across all singles competition and was crowned the ITA All-American Singles Champion and the ITA National Fall Championship Singles Champion. She became just the second Tar Heel to win both championships in the same season, joining Jamie Loeb who did so in 2013.
Crawley climbed to the No. 1 ranking after the fall season and did not fall from that spot over the entirety of the spring season. She went 27-2 this spring primary from the No. 1 position and finished the year with the most singles wins by a player in all of Division I.
In addition to helping the Tar Heels to their first NCAA National Championship in program history, Crawley also helped North Carolina to an ITA National Team Indoor Championship, and partnered with Carson Tanguilig to win the 2023 NCAA Doubles Championship.
Crawley was named the ACC Player of the Year and was a First-Team All-ACC selection in both Singles and Doubles. She all earned All-American honors in both Singles and Doubles for her efforts this season.
Crawley Received a main draw wild card bid to the 2023 US Open with doubles partner Carson Tanguilig and was selected to the USTA Collegiate Summer Team.
