Paint to transform your closet instead of letting old clothes rot in your closet, repurpose them into creative staples!

PREP FOR SUCCESS For the best (and cleanest) results, you'll need: an item of clothing, fabric paint, cardboard, table covering, brushes, drawing utensils, and a palette.
BE RESOURCEFUL Although any clothing item will work, repurposing old, stained or plain pieces is the least wasteful and most cost effective option.
MUSICAL MOTIVATION Inspiration for art can be found anywhere. Listening to music is my favorite source for creativity. Other options can include exploring outdoors or roaming the internet.
ETCH YOUR SKETCH Start by sketching out your idea in pencil.
PRETTY IN PENĀ Finalize your sketch with a darker outline, then place your cardboard in between the layers of fabric. This is to ensure the paint doesn't seep through.
READY, SET, GO Break open your fabric paints and add color! The brand pictured is Imagin8 Soft Touch Paint.
MIX IT UP To create layers of depth in your imagery, use a palette or surface to mix your paints. This will make your final product more interesting and customized.
READY TO WEAR Once you're satisfied with your creation, let your paint dry overnight. After this it should be washable.
