Black Professional Health Association 2020-2021 Academic Year E-Board Application

Please review the responsibilities of your prospective positions before submitting an application.

Finance Chair

  • Responsible for handling and managing all finances of the organization.
  • Making sure that the org is always in good financial stature and that all purchases and money used for the org or by the orgs account is recorded.
  • Responsible for handling dues for new and old members and keeping track of those who have paid.
  • Must be organized to ensure no money is mishandled or lost.
  • Responsible for completing any and all orders.
  • The finance chair is also responsible for putting together and running all fundraising events to ensure longevity of the organization

Secretary

  • Responsible for maintaining contact between the entire organization and handles all communications on the organization’s behalf.
  • Must ensure all members (including e-board) are aware of all events/meetings.
  • Must ensure the maintenance of records and administration.
  • This includes, but is not limited to: updating the listserv, taking minutes at executive board meetings, documenting attendance, and sending out recaps of the meeting to e-board members.
  • Responsible for scouting external sources of community service, assistance, exposure, and collaboration within the undergraduate, graduate, and surrounding community.

STARS COORDINATOR

  • Responsible for attending TSG (Temple Student Government) meetings every Monday at 4 pm and signing in the organization at the end of each meeting for attendance.
  • Only 2 meetings are excused per semester.
  • Earn and maintain all the organization's STARS by attending workshops and keeping track of what it takes to earn each STARS level and its’ benefits.
  • Fill out allocations forms with assistance of the Finance Chair.
  • Logging progression into Owl Connect and maintain personal record.
  • Requesting Audit at the end of the year to confirm STARS status for approval by April 1st. Meet with Adriane Riley to clarify any STARS discrepancies/discussion concerns.

Public Relations Chair

  • Fully responsible for the curation of the BPHA social media presence through graphics, content, and engagement.
  • Responsible for promoting all events and programs on all of the organization’s social media handles on a regular basis (at minimum weekly)
  • Require creative captions, meme, and GIF competence. Gauge what time to post on both social media handles to ensure the most interaction with our followers (ex. Retweets, peak hours, likes, etc.).
  • Engage with the organization's members through private and public interactions on the social media timelines.
  • Works closely with every other eboard member in creating the visual concepts pertaining to various programs and events. The earlier the flyers are done the more buzz it picks up by the student body. E-board will vote for or against the flyer, E-board gets the last say.

Community Service Chair

  • Responsible for the oversight and execution of community service events both inside and outside the organization.
  • Plans community service events and ensures the org’s participation in other service events on and off campus.
  • They are also responsible for fostering an environment in which members of the org understand and value the benefit of giving back to the community in the form of service and volunteerism.

Events Chair

  • The Event Chair is responsible for putting together, planning, and running all events with assistance of the E-board.
  • These include events such as the medical exposure events, the mixer, etc.
  • This person also works closely with the Finance Chair, Stars Coordinator, and Community Service Chair.
