Dropping off and Parking
We have had some complaints with regards to Parking at drop off and pick up times. Please ensure that you park considerately so that children can be kept as safe as possible on their way to and from school.
Please also refrain from dropping children off at the end of the school driveway. We are hoping that the yellow zig zag lines can be repainted so that we can ensure that this area is safe for children to walk, ride and scoot down.
Healthy snacks and water
Please can you make sure that any snacks that children have in school are healthy. Snacks such as fruit and vegetables, plain rice cakes or cereal bars are absolutely fine to bring in. Snacks such as chocolate bars, crisps and other high fat foods are not allowed to be eaten at break.
We know it is important for children to stay hydrated at school. Please ensure your child beings in water in their water bottle rather than squash. Thank you for your understanding.
New sandpit
Huge thanks to Rob Elkins and Ben Towl for the incredible job they did in building our new sandpit. We've been waiting for the grass to recover around the sandpit before officially opening it to the children but hopefully they can start using it very soon. Thank you also to all those parents who came to lend a helping hand over the two day installation- it really is appreciated.

Monkton Musicians
Children who have been learning an instrument in/outside of school for over a year are welcome to join the Monkton Musicians. However, due to practical constraints, pianists, guitarists and drummers will not be able to participate on this occasion. At a later stage in the year I hope to offer a musical club that caters for a wider group of children.'
T - Trak
• T-Trak is a modular model railway where individual A4-sized modules link together to make a bigger layout. We use our STEM and Art skills to design and build our modules so they can successfully connect to any other T-Trak modules in the world. And, along the way, we use our N Gauge models to learn about what engineers do on the full-size railway.
• You can find out more about T-Trak and see all the modules the Club members have built since September 2017 on our website at http://ttrak.wikidot.com/monkton-park-primary-school-t-trak-club.
• You don’t have to be a member of the club to join in with T-Trak: you could build a module at home as a project or for a Scouts/Guides model-making badge, and your module could join our layout or others for a “T-Trak meet”. Please contact Mr Smart via the school office if you’d like to know more.
• Our school’s T-Trak Club was the first T-Trak club in Britain. The Club is kindly supported by Network Rail and FOMPS.
