Adams Update April 21, 2023

First Grade Explores Mid-Michigan Children's Museum!

Adams 1st grade students had a grand time exploring Saginaw's Mid-Michigan Children's Museum yesterday. Students learned about cool scientific concepts while having fun interacting with the exhibits and each other. Many thanks to the Adams PTO, who helped provide funding for the trip, and to all of the parent volunteers who made it possible. 1st grade learning is fun--awesome!

Next Thursday, April 27 = Family Night at the Book Fair

Family Night at the Book Fair is always a hit, and it's just around the corner! Next Thursday, April 27, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. is the big occasion. Buy books for your kids, find birthday presents, and even stop by the Kona Ice Food Truck that will be on the lot. Fun for the whole family, see you there!

Earth Day 2023 Clean Up at Adams

In recognition of tomorrow's Earth Day, our students and staff took charge of cleaning up the Adams playground and other outdoor spaces. It was a good time for everyone to remember that we each have a responsibility to be good stewards of all the resources that are available to us. Thank you to the PTO, who provided the clean-up materials, and great job, Adams Atoms!

Adams Robotics Teams Present at Expo

What an amazing day! Four Adams teams participated in the First Robotics Expo this past Saturday, April 15, at Jefferson Middle School. Students and their mentors worked hard all season long, creating their projects and exhibiting the core values of FIRST Robotics. Teams presented their projects to the judges, receiving feedback and awards. What fun! Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your hard work, dedication, and efforts to FLL - E. Many of our students are looking forward to participating further in Robotics next school year. Way to go, Adams Atoms!

Attention 2023-24 4th and 5th Graders: Join the Adams Robotics Team!

If you will be in the 4th or 5th grade in the upcoming, 2023-24 school year, we're looking for you! We have openings for interested students to participate in the Adams First Lego League (FLL) Robotics program next year.

You can learn more about FLL at their website: https://www.firstlegoleague.org/season.

The Explore experience is for students in grades 2-3, and the Challenge program is for grades 4-5. This program will start up in the fall, right after school starts.

Is your child interested? If so, please fill out the form below and let us know. We will also need parent mentors--teams cannot participate without parent mentors! If you are interested in filling that role, please note that on the form, as well.

Hello from the Adams PTO!

We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Spring Scholastic Book Fair. Hosted by our Adams PTO, this event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As always, all purchases benefit our school.

Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place from April 20 – April 27 in the school’s library. Your student will have a chance to shop with their class during a designated time during this week. Additionally, families may shop on Thursday, April 27, from 5 PM - 8 PM with the last call for book sales and a Kona Ice Truck that you can purchase a treat for your students, and 25% of proceeds will go to the PTO.

Our Book Fair offers eWallet, a safe and secure alternative to cash. Simply create a free account to add funds and/or invite family and friends to contribute so your child can select their own books. Any unused funds can be spent at The Scholastic Store Online or to fund a future eWallet. If you had remaining funds from your fall eWallet, you must sign in to your account and add the funds to the Spring Book Fair E-Wallet.

If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.

Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping:
