The Weston Weekly December 9, 2022

The weather is turning colder. We still try to get outside for recess as much as possible. Please read over G-C's recess guidelines below. Students need to come to school prepared to go outside by wearing pants to school and a warm jacket. Hats and gloves are always a good idea as well. Please write your student's initials on the inside of their items in case they go missing.

Donuts with Santa

Thank you to our Weston families and our amazing PTO for attending and organizing Donuts with Santa.

Camp Invention is returning summer of 2023:

tbri ~ Trust-Based Relational Intervention

We appreciate families sending in snacks for their student's classroom. Their brains and engines really benefit from them. If you know of any community partners willing to donate snacks, the staff and students will be appreciative of their generosity.

Social Worker Corner ~ Mrs. Miller

The Day of Love and Caring event will be held on Saturday, December 24, 8:30am-1:00pm, at the Hancock County Fairgrounds. This event is an opportunity for parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles to shop for gifts for the important children in their lives. Hot meals, toys, clothes, coats, shoes, and gifts from a local candy shop will be available, and….. SANTA AND MRS. CLAUS will be there to visit. Plenty of toys will be available throughout the day so there is no need to stand in an early morning line. If families bring 2 adults, one can shop for wanted items while the other takes the kids to the Santa line.

Community & GC Club Opportunities

Realife Steam Academy offers after-school care to students who attend both Weston and Harris Elementary schools. We are located on US 40 inside Realife Church. We currently pick up students at Weston with our activity bus and are willing to pick up at Harris as well. We are open daily from 7AM to 6PM.

USEd Sports Equipment:

Are you in need of used sports equipment for your student? A few of our G-C high school students collaborated on a project, Dream Big, to promote youth participation in sports in the community. They have the following equipment available: baseball helmets, various sporting cleats, roller skates, lacrosse sticks, basketballs, and more. If you are in need of this equipment, please reach out to Meg Welch.

Calendar and Menus

School Lunch & Breakfast Fees ~ The school meals program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, school corporations across the country have been operating with the use of a federal waiver that allowed them to feed every child for free through the end of this school year. The use of this waiver will not be available this school year and corporations will return to the traditional eligibility requirements for free, reduced and paid meals. This means that for School Year 2022-2023, our school corporation will be charging students for breakfasts and lunches. Free & Reduced Application for Families

EZ School Pay ~ Lunch Accounts - Greenfield-Central is once again using www.ezschoolpay.com to put lunch money in your child’s lunch account (there is a small fee and you will need your child’s student number found on Powerschool). Lunch money may also be submitted by check when you come to registration. Please be sure to keep your child’s lunch account in good standing. Additionally, our cafeteria computer system does not have the capabilities to put a “block” on student lunch accounts for purchasing extra lunch items. You will want to make sure your child is on the same page as you when it comes to spending lunch account money. FYI, you can also pay textbook rental fees and iPad insurance on ezschoolpay as well! https://www.ezschoolpay.com/Login.aspx

YMCA

YMCA ~ We do offer YMCA after school care. Weston students will be bussed after school to Harris Elementary. Please visit the link below to register your student and read more information regarding the program.
