Craig Marcus Clinkscales, Jr also known as CJ Clinkscales was born on January 29, 2004, in Douglasville, GA. He is an ATH, signed to play football with Boston College in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

As a young student athlete, CJ excelled in many sports, including soccer, basketball, wrestling, lacrosse, football and track. In 2012, CJ was featured in Runner’s World Magazine and Huffington Post, “Young Runner Puts Junior Olympic Dreams on Hold to Help Sister”. Clinkscales beat the odds after taking time off from training to become a bone marrow transplant donor curing his sister of sickle cell anemia.. As an 8-year-old, CJ qualified for the Junior Olympics and became known for his natural athletic ability, determination, and grit.

In 2017, he became a National FBU 8th Grade Champion, defeating a talented South Florida team out of Miami, FL. At Buford High School, CJ contributed on the varsity team as an underclassman, and ultimately became a 3 x State Champion to close out his senior season. He was also voted Region 8-6A Athlete of the Year for 2021, along with other county and state recognitions.

CJ’s active leadership ability is noted through his involvement on and off the football field. As a high school freshman his coaches described CJ as coachable athlete that consistently demonstrate his determination and inspires his teammates to perform at their personal best. Buford High School RB Coach Fyrone Davis shared, “CJ sets the example for what coaches look for in exceptional players, displaying self-discipline and a tremendous work ethic. CJ’s leadership skills, positive attitude, ability to quickly grasp plays, and natural athletic ability have equipped him to play an integral role on our team and beyond.” CJ was awarded the Coaches Award his freshman and senior year of high school.

CJ plans to enroll at Boston College in summer Summer 2022 and major in Computer Science.

  • My favorite sport if not playing football would be basketball.
  • I have several professional athletes from my family – Ricky Bell (NFL), Larry Nance (NBA), Lester Clinkscales (MLB)
  • Created my first business – Vision Quest Enterprises LLC. I will be using this as a base for various business ventures.
  • My favorite food – crab legs.
  • Favorite NFL Team – Atlanta Falcons… I love my home teams.
  • My favorite NBA – Atlanta Hawks… Always pulling for the home team.
  • Favorite moment – winning State Championship 3 times in a row and being named Athlete of the Year.
