WHAT IS IT?
A one year opportunity to develop a creative enterprise; your own creative business concept.
The qualification develops business skills and awareness, expands your industry contacts and helps you to build a strong creative portfolio based in your own creative passion.
The course is delivered through three days of full time study and one day of registered independent study.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The qualification is for anyone who is interested in starting up their own projects or company.
It will support those who want to gain industry knowledge and experience and test a business idea with the support and guidance of specialist mentors.
It will benefit those who want to expand their contact base, work on live projects, develop business and management skills and to progress into self-employment or HE.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
The course runs across one year and three units. Unit 3 awards the final grade for the course.
Unit 1 - develops your ability to position and brand your business in a competitive market. It teaches you key business skills as you examine business models, project management, copyright laws, fundraising and budgeting amongst other things.
Unit 2 - provides you extended time for creative portfolio development. Enabling you time to refine and develop your style, product and creative skillset whilst working on professional briefs and expanding your network of industry contacts.
Unit 3 - Drawing on your skills from Unit 1&2 you will develop and present your own creative enterprise business plan, website and branding. The plan will outline your business concept and the necessary financial and marketing research that proves it can be a success. Your plan will be presented to a 'Dragon's Den' panel of professionals along with your practical work.

WHAT NEXT?
Many of our graduates have gone on to launch their businesses full time or have been employed by contacts that were made during the course.
Some have progressed onto Higher Education to continue to develop their creative practice within their area of specialism.
